The international scientific-practical conference titled “New World Order: Principles of Construction, Prospects, Challenges” organized by the Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU) and CIS Anti-Terrorism Center was held in Moscow on October 23-25, 2024.

The event brought together representatives of:
the national anti-terrorist structures, public authorities and scientific and educational organizations of eight CIS member-states (Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan), as well as the People's Republic of China;

international organizations – Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Secretariat and Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

The event included a plenary session, three thematic sections and a round table on the following topics: "Counter-terrorism and extremism in the context of transformation of the world order: new opportunities for interaction", "Contours of the world order reflecting the values and interests of the world community", "Information confrontation between Russia and the "collective West" in the context of global geopolitical competition", "Political discourse and problems of education".

The conference was opened by the MSLU Rector Professor I.A. Kraeva and CIS ATC Head Colonel General E.S. Sysoev.

In his statement, the Head of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center assessed the situation in the area of countering terrorism and noted that one of the characteristic trends of terrorism is its information expansion, which is caused by large-scale propaganda of radical ideology with use of modern information and telecommunication technologies. The threat of the revival of Nazi ideas, attempts to glorify their followers, and distort historical events is of particular danger. In this regard, the need to unite the anti-terrorist efforts of state and public institutions has become obvious. An important role in this work belongs to young people brought up in the spirit of citizenship, patriotism and respect for universal human values.

The Conference featured more than 140 reports which outlined the achievements and most important results of regional cooperation, ensuring integration mechanisms for interaction in the CIS area.
