III Regional expert consultations of the representatives of the counter-terrorism and counter-extremism practice units of the security bodies, special services and law-enforcement agencies of the CIS member-states

21 November 2013, Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The Third regional expert consultations were held on the base of the CIS ATC representative office in the Central Asian region on  "Algorithms of cooperation of the relevant bodies of the CIS member-states in case of crisis situations amid withdrawal of the International Security Assistance Forces from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2014".

The representatives of the practice units of the security bodies, special services, border security departments and internal affairs bodies including Ministry of National Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Committee of National  Security and Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, State  Committee of National  Security, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, Federal Security Service and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, State Committee of National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan and Service of the National Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan as well as Coordination Service of the Council of the Commanders of the Border Forces and Office for the Coordination of the Fight Against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime on the Territory of CIS member-states took part in the event.

Having discussed the possible negative scenarios of the operational situation development in the region upon withdrawal of the NATO coalition forces from the territory of Afghanistan, the participants of the Third regional expert consultations offered to form a package of practical measures of the security bodies, special services and law-enforcement agencies of the CIS member-states aimed at degradation of the terrorism threats and other violent acts of extremism in the Central Asian region; to elaborate joint actions of operational response to the terrorism threats and other violent acts of extremism originating first of all from Afghanistan; considering the trends of radicalization of the religious organizations occurring under the influence of the external ideological extremism concepts, to pay extra attention to prevention of the religious-extremist ideology in the Commonwealth member-states.

Within the frameworks of the event a working meeting of the representatives of the security bodies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and CIS ATC was held. The meeting was dedicated to management and simultaneous performance in the territory of the above CIS states of the integrated search events Tral-Antiterror aimed at identification, search and detention of the persons placed on the interstate wanted list by the Commonwealth member-states for crimes of the terrorist or extremist nature.
