The event was held under the auspices of the CIS ATC with the support of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 2 September 2021.
The participants summarized the results of the first stage of the Caspian-Antiterror 2021 joint anti-terrorism drill of the competent authorities of the CIS member-states which was carried out in August this year in the territory of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The second stage of the exercise was implemented under the leadership of the Republican operational headquarters during which the special units of the uniformed agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted simulated anti-terrorism operation aimed to rescue hostages and neutralize terrorists at the marine infrastructure and oil-gas facilities “Drilling Rig” and “Ship”. The Kazakh Emercom units demonstrated their skills to mitigate consequences of a terrorist attack.
The Get-together was attended by the delegates of the security agencies of the CIS member-states, including SSS of the Republic of Azerbaijan, NSS of the Republic of Armenia, SSC of the Republic of Belarus, NSC of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NSSC of the Kyrgyz Republic, SIS of the Republic of Moldova, FSC of the Russian Federation, NSSC of the Republic of Tajikistan, SCS of the Republic of Uzbekistan; as well as CIS Executive Committee and branch cooperation bodies including Coordinating Service of the Border Troops Commanders’ Council, Secretariat of the Defense Ministers’ Council, Committee of the Law Enforcement units; Heads of the Custom Services Heads Council, Council of the Financial Intelligence Units, Inter-State Aviation Committee; delegates of the Executive Committee of the Regional Antiterrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for combating the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors; representatives of the ministries and agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MoD, Ministry of Information and Social Development, Emergencies Ministry, IAM and others).
