A meeting of the permanent council at the CIS ATC Head involving the representatives of 7 Commonwealth states and SORB Executive Committee was held on September 29, 2023 in Moscow.
At the meeting the plenipotentiary representatives briefed about the country’s situation in the field of terrorism and extremism.
The Center’s executives informed the participants about the outcomes of the First CIS Conference on Combating Terrorism and Extremism which was held under the auspices of the Kyrgyz Republic presidency in the Commonwealth of Independent States in Bishkek on September 20, 2023 and the results of the September’s joint anti-terrorism exercise “Eurasia-Antiterror – 2023” which second stage was conducted simultaneously with the anti-terrorism exercise of the SCO member-states’ competent authorities in Kyrgyzstan on September 21.
In addition, the meeting discussed organization and state of work for the development of CIS legal frameworks and convergence of national legislations of the CIS member-states in the field of countering terrorism and extremism, methodological support for the anti-terrorist activities of competent authorities and work aimed at assisting special services in countering the financing of terrorism.
The meeting was traditionally held in an atmosphere of substantive dialogue and useful exchange of views.
