A meeting of the permanent council at the CIS ATC Head involving the representatives of 10 Commonwealth states and SORB Executive Committee was held on March 10, 2023 in Moscow.
The meeting reviewed development of the situation in the counter-terrorism and counter-extremism area in the CIS member-states as well as the status of cooperation of the CIS ATC and competent authorities of the Commonwealth states in the security field.
The CIS ATC’s representatives briefed about the Center’s activity to render assistance to the CIS member-states in interstate search of wanted perpetrators of terrorist and extremist offences. It was noted that the competent authorities arrested over 100 offenders in 2022 with the information support of the Center.
Moreover, the meeting participants were informed about the outcomes of the tenth meeting of the secretaries of security councils of the CIS member-states and measures to implement those outcomes within the framework of the CIS ATC’s mandate, as well as the key results of the Center’s cooperation with the international organizations in the field of counter-terrorism and counter-extremism.
Notably the CIS ATC’s executives and officers took part in 32 activities of the specialized international organizations, including 12 events of the United Nations.
The meeting was traditionally held in an atmosphere of substantive dialogue and useful exchange of views.
