The XV Meeting the heads (chiefs of staff) of the national anti-terrorism centers of the CIS member-states on “Counter-terrorism cooperation in the changing international environment” was held at the CIS-ATC’s headquarters in Moscow on March 2, 2022.
The meeting brought together representatives of the security agencies and special services of 9 member-states, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan; 6 CIS bodies, including Executive Committee, Coordinating Service of the Border Troops Commanders’ Council, Secretariat of the Defense Ministers Council, Coordinating council of the Prosecutor Generals Council, Council of the Heads of Financial Intelligence Units, Bureau for Coordination of Fight on Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime; 3 international organizations, namely Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Secretariat of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism and Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The participants of the XV meeting had an engaged exchange of views, gave their assessment of the current situation and trends of its development, and marked the priority lines of cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism.
The work of the meeting resulted in adoption of the Outcome document which defined the ways of further improvement of efficiency of cooperation of the Commonwealth competent authorities.
The extended plenary meeting in absentia of the Scientific and Advisory Board at the CIS ATC on “Provision of security during the important social and political activities within the CIS” was held as part of the event.
