11-12 February 2014, Moscow, Russia. The CIS Anti-Terrorism Center held the VII Meeting of the heads of the national anti-terrorism centers (chiefs of staff) of the CIS member-states dedicated to the topical directions of cooperation of the relevant authorities of the CIS member-states in combating terrorism and other violent acts of extremism.
Pursuant to the Meeting's program, an International conference "International Cooperation in Combating Hi-Tech Terrorism: Problems and Solutions" chaired by the Head of CIS ATC Colonel General of Police A. Novikov was organized on 11 February within the frameworks of the XIX International Forum "Security and Safety Technologies" under the auspices of the CIS ATC and MFA of Russia.
On 12 February a meeting of the heads of the national anti-terrorism centers of the CIS member-states dedicated to the topical directions of cooperation in opposing terrorist challenges and threats was held on the base of the CIS ATC. The key topics of discussion covered exchange of information and coordination of the security bodies and special services of the Commonwealth member-states during mass sporting events; improvement of coordination in interstate search; analysis of results of the special operations conducted within the frameworks of the interstate search in 2012-2013 in the Central Asian region.
Representatives of the security bodies and special services of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine; charter bodies and bodies of the CIS branch cooperation (Executive Committee, Council of the Heads of Security Bodies, Secretariat of the Council of the Ministers of Defense, Coordination service of the Council of the Commanders of the Border Forces, Office for the Coordination of the Fight Against Organized Crime, Interstate Aviation Committee); representatives of the international and regional organizations (Collective Security Treaty Organization, Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization); diplomatic representatives of the foreign countries; leading experts and scientists took part in the two-day event.
