The chief of the legal support group of the CIS ATC took part in a special meeting of the Expert Advisory Council under the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization «Umbrella of Eurasian Integration Security», which took place within the framework of the XII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum in St. Petersburg on June 26, 2024.
The event was attended by delegates from national parliaments and experts from public authorities, scientific and educational organizations of the CSTO member-states, and representatives of the CIS bodies.
During the meeting, the participants discussed legal support for military, biological, information, digital and electoral security, as well as promising areas for the development of the CSTO model legislation and legal aspects of using digital technologies and artificial intelligence technologies for security purposes.
The CIS ATC’s representative noted the importance of coordinated efforts of the CIS, SCO and CSTO in improving the legal foundations for countering terrorism and extremism, as well as strengthening the analytical component of this work.
