A representative of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center took part in the meetings of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly’s (IPA) Joint commission on harmonization of legislation in the field of security and countering new challenges and threats and IPA’s Standing Commission on defense and security on September 23, 2022 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
The event organized in a blended format was attended by the parliamentarians of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of the CIS bodies, civil society, educational and scientific institutions.
The meetings adopted and recommended for review by the IPA plenary meetings draft legal acts on anti-terrorism issues, including amendments to the model Criminal Code concerning countering financing of terrorism, Recommendations for improvement of the CIS states’ legislation on countering terrorist use of radioactive substances, dangerous chemical agents and pathogenic biological agents, CIS model law “On National Security”, as well as amendments to CIS model laws “On Border Security”, “On State Border” and “On Border Agencies (Forces)”.
