A representative of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center took part in the meetings of the Joint commission at the CIS Inter-Parliament Assembly for harmonization of law in the field of security and countering new challenges and threats, as well as CIS IPA Standing commission for defense and security on April 14, 2022 in Saint Petersburg.
The event held in a hybrid format was also attended by members of the CIS IPA commissions, representatives of the state authorities, statutory and branch cooperation bodies of the Commonwealth, educational and academic institutions, and international organizations.
The participants reviewed a draft model law “On Public Security” elaborated by the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center. Peer review was given on a number of draft model legal acts, including draft laws “On National Security”, “On Emergency Response Services Universal Dial System”, amendments to model laws “On Border Security”, “On State Border”, “On Border Agencies (Forces)”, as well as a draft Glossary of Terms used by internal affairs bodies (police) of the CIS member-states on countering crimes committed with use of blockchain technologies and crypto currencies.
At their meeting the members of the Joint commission examined draft Recommendations for improving CIS member-states’ legislation in countering terrorist use of radioactive substances, dangerous chemical substances and pathogen biological agents as presented by the Scientific and Research Center of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.
