The exercise was intended to train officers of operational units of the security agencies and special services of the Commonwealth member-states in conducting joint practical tasks of the first stage of anti-terrorism exercise "Cyber Anti-Terror 2016" to prevent, identify and suppress terrorist acts committed with use of information and communication technologies.
The participants were informed about methods of interaction in identifying and suppressing cyber-attacks committed with use of information and communication technologies and malicious software; ways and procedures of operation with collective-use information systems in conducting operations; specificity and procedure of operation of operative investigative units in investigating computer incidents in the telecommunication networks.
The Joint Staff Command Exercise was attended by representatives of competent authorities from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia and Uzbekistan.
