The CIS Anti-Terrorism Center’s delegation led by the Center’s Deputy Head P.V. Tikhonov took part in the All-Russia Forum on “Prevention of Destructive Activity in the Youth Environment” held at the Moscow Pedagogical State University (MPSU) on December 8, 2022.
The Forum was organized by the Center of Religious and Ethnic Extremism Prevention in educational entities of the Russian Federation with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Education of Russia. It brought together representatives of the executive government authorities, experts in prevention of extremism, religious and public figures, specialists in tutorial work and work with youth.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the problems and work out solutions in the field of prevention of destructive activity in the youth environment, as well as to improve awareness and competences of the education specialists in preventing extremism and deviant behavior in the educational facilities.
P.V. Tikhonov addressed a plenary session with a presentation on assessment of terrorist threats in the CIS area.
At the second session on information security in the educational sphere and youth environment, the CIS ATC’s representative presented a report on “Information and outreach activities of international terrorist organizations in the CIS states”. The report highlighted the impact of informatization and digitalization processes on shaping emerging terrorist threats.
The Forum adopted a resolution.
