First deputy head of CIS Zhanat Saipoldaev took part in the Fourth Regional Conference organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), and the United Nations Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions (OROLSI) within the framework of the Counter-Terrorism Early Warning Network for Central Asia initiative on September 10, 2024.
The event was attended by the delegations of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of the regional organizations, civil society institutions and academia.
The conference participants assessed the impact of the latest developments in Afghanistan on the Central-Asian countries, discussed the threats to security at the regional and national levels, reviewed community engagement in prevention of violent extremism and countering terrorism and building resilience against extremist ideologies.
