A meeting of the expert of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team of the UN Security Council committees 1267 and 1988 (on ISIL, Al-Qaeda and Taliban) Viktor Shtoyunda with the CIS ATC’s representatives was held in the Center’s premises on May 3, 2024.
The meeting was organized ahead of the Team’s thirty fourth report pursuant to resolution 2610 (2021) on ISIL and Al-Qaeda and fifteenth report pursuant to resolution 2716 (2023) on the Taliban movement.
The parties exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan as well as today’s challenges and threats to security in different regions of the world posed by the operations of the international terrorist organizations.
In conclusion of the meeting the UN representative expressed his gratitude to the CIS ATC for the informational support to the Monitoring Team in preparation of the thematic reports.
