The CIS ATC’s delegation led by its Head Evgeny Sysoev took part in the ceremonial event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of founding of the CSO RATS Executive Committee in Tashkent on March 29, 2024.
The event was held on the eve of the 41st meeting of SCO RATS Council and was attended by the executives of the competent authorities of 10 states of “Shanghai Family” (India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, former directors of SCO RATS EC.
In his statement the Head of the Center noted that over two decades the Executive Committee had developed a rich practice of coordinating of the efforts of special services, formed a solid legal framework, established unique relationships of respect and trust between the special services, raised international authority and political weight, and gained experience of integrating competent authorities of new member states (India, Iran and Pakistan).
This practice is carefully studied and actively employed to improve the activities of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center.
Anti-terrorism exercise “Eurasia-Antiterror - 2023” simultaneously held in 2023 on the territory of Kyrgyzstan under the auspices of the CIS and SCO became a striking example of our consolidated efforts. The First CIS Conference on Combating Terrorism and Extremism, which took place on the eve of the exercise, could represent another example of successful joining of capacities of the two organizations.
In conclusion the Head of the Center informed that this year the CIS ATC and the SCO RATS would have to implement a wide range of joint activities, which would allow them to reach a new level of cooperation between the integration associations and make a significant contribution to the consolidated efforts of the CIS and SCO countries in the field of security.
