The CIS ATC’s representative took part in the Regional Conference organized by the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism and UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia within the framework of the Early Warning Network for Central Asia project, in Tbilisi on October 9-13, 2023.
The Conference became a continuation of the series of national consultations held in the capitals of the Central Asian states in July this year as part of the activities of Phase IV of the Project on “Towards a comprehensive implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia”.
The participants discussed improvement of efficiency of response measures to the emerging security challenges linked with Afghanistan.
The event also included a training on application of system analysis method for assessment threats and elaboration of ways to minimize them.
The Center’s representative made a presentation on the situation in the Central Asian region and informed the participants of the events which were held in the Commonwealth in September this year, including First CIS Conference on Combating Terrorism and Extremism, Joint Anti-Terrorism Exercise of the CIS competent authorities “Eurasia-Antiterror – 2023”.
