The CIS ATC’s representative took part in the working meeting of the officers of the law enforcement and security agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, international, regional and national experts on counter-terrorism and counter-extremism in Astana on July 10-11, 2023.
The event was a part of the series of consultations organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism and United Nations Regional Center of Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia within the framework of the Early Warning Network (EWN) in Counter-Terrorism for Central Asia project.
The consultations reviewed key security challenges faced by the Central Asian countries amid the developing situation in Afghanistan. The participants were familiarized with the best practices of the regional structures, including CIS ATC, in information exchange and discussed the methodology and practical implementation of the Early Warning Network.
