CIS ATC participated in UN consultations


The CIS ATC’s representative took part in the in the national consultations for Tajikistan within the framework of the Early Warning Network (EWN) in counter-terrorism for Central Asia organized by United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and United Nations Regional Center of Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) on July 3-4, 2023.

The event was also attended by the representatives of the governmental authorities and expert society of Tajikistan, officers of the UN agencies (UNOCT, UNRCCA, UNODC, UNDP, IOM), as well as OSCE, SCO RATS and independent experts.

The consultations included seven sessions dedicated to assessment of current security challenges and threats for Central Asia, including in the context of the situation in Afghanistan, trends of their development. The participants discussed the methodology and practical implementation of the Early Warning Network.

The Center’s representative made an online presentation in the session “Best practices of international and regional organizations” and explained mechanisms of information sharing in the CIS ATC.

The participants were briefed on the capacities of the CIS ATC’s Specialized Data Bank, its remote access points deployed in the Commonwealth states and the existing system of mutual information sharing between the CIS competent authorities.
