Deputy Head of CIS ATC Major General P.V. Tikhonov took part in the High-Level International Conference on “International and Regional Border Security and Management Cooperation to Counter Terrorism and Prevent the Movement of Terrorists” in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan on October 18-19, 2022.
The conference dedicated to preventing trans-border movement of terrorists and organization of efficient border management reviewed extending of regional and international cooperation in border security, as well as measures to counter trafficking in arms, ammunitions and explosives with due consideration of the regional and national experience.
Deputy Head of the Center presented the report on “Contemporary challenges and threats posed by international terrorist organizations in the Commonwealth states. Possible ways of their transformation”.
P.V. Tikhonov noted a substantial practical contribution of Tajikistan to the common efforts of the Commonwealth states in fight on terrorism and stressed that the forum offered its participants a possibility to know the topical information and best world practices in the field of security.
The event brought together representatives of 70 states from the Central Asia, Asia-Pacific region, Europe, experts of the international and regional organizations, representatives of civil society and mass media.
