The CIS ATC’s delegation led by the Center’s Head Colonel-General E.S. Sysoev attended CSTO’s special tactical exercise Cobalt-2022 in Balykchy, Issyk-Kul region, Kyrgyz Republic on August 3-5, 2022.
During the event the special purpose units of the CSTO’s Collective Rapid Deployment Forces mastered performance of simulated training and operational combat tasks aimed to search, interdict and eliminate armed gangs and terrorist groups as well as to block drug smuggling channels.
The exercise involved over 500 troops and 20 pieces of military and special equipment and demonstrated high level of training and fieldcraft, coherence of the CSTO’s collective security forces and means.
The exercise was attended by representatives of the Office for Coordination of Fight on Organized Crime and Coordinating Service of the Border Troops Commanders’ Council, SCO RATS, UNODC, OSCE, ICRC, diplomatic missions of Iran, Mongolia and China in observer capacity.
