The First Deputy Head of CIS ATC Colonel Zh.N. Saipoldaev took part in the meeting of the International Coordination Staff directing the “Channel-Nevskiy Shield” sub-regional anti-drug operation on July 22, 2022 in Saint Petersburg.
The event summarized the operation carried out to block the trafficking channels of illicit drugs of Afghan origin to the CSTO’s area of responsibility, including with use of variable means of transport infrastructure (airports, sea ports, railway hubs and stations as well as border control points of the participating states) organized by the Ministry of Interior of Russia in cooperation with the CSTO Secretariat.
The Center’s First Deputy Head highlighted the growing interaction between the CSTO Secretariat and CIS ATC and noted, in particular, the positive results of cooperation within the framework of the Center’s information support to the CSTO’s operations “Channel” and “Illegal Alien”.
