A representative of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center took part in the debriefing on the results of the special operations conducted under the concept of “controlled delivery of drugs” organized by the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center for Combating Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC) on July 19, 2022.
The debriefing was attended offline by 40 representatives of delegation from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, USA, Netherlands, Italy and UNODC and online by over 80 officers from the competent authorities of CARICCC member-states and observers as well as international organizations.
The participants discussed practical issues of cooperation during preparation and conduct of anti-drug activities. It was also noted that the conducted operations could serve a good example of professional operational and investigation work at an international level.
During the debriefing the CIS ATC representative drew attention to the necessity of establishing a causal relationship between illicit drug trafficking and terrorism financing.
