CIS ATC’s Deputy Head Pavel Tikhonov took part in the get-together of the officials of the CSTO member-states’ national agencies authorized to contact with the CSTO Crisis Response Center on March 18, 2022 in Moscow.
In his statement P. Tikhonov assessed the situation in the field of counter-terrorism and counter-extremism in the Commonwealth area basing on the joint position elaborated during the XV Meeting of the heads of national anti-terrorism centers of the CIS member-states which was held in March earlier this year.
The mounting tension in relations between global power centers has a determinant influence on development of the terrorist and extremist threats in the CIS, Pavel Tikhonov noted.
Further increase in the terrorist activity in the information space, including propaganda, recruitment and fund raising as well as use of misinformation is projected to continue.
The CIS ATC’s representative stressed that the Commonwealth’s security agencies and special services constantly monitored the situation for the purpose of rapid response to the emerging challenges and threats.
