The Head of CIS Anti-Terrorism Center E.S. Sysoev took part in the High-Level International Conference “Regional cooperation of the countries of Central Asia under the Joint Action Plan for the implementation UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy” held in Tashkent and co-organized by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
E.S. Sysoev attended the panel session “Preventing and Countering Terrorism” and made a report on “Assessment of Terrorist Threats in Central Asia and Forecast of their Development”.
The CIS ATC Head in his remarks touched upon the situation in Central Asia with reference to the joint stand of the heads of anti-terrorism centers of the Commonwealth states elaborated during the preceding Meeting on counter-terrorism cooperation of the CIS member-states which was organized yesterday by the CIS ATC.
E.S. Sysoev noted that in its activity the Center pays special attention to strengthening cooperation with the key specialized international organizations and integration into the UN common anti-terrorist coalition.
