A working meeting of the Head of Commonwealth of Independent States Anti-Terrorism Center E.S. Sysoev and Director of the Executive Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure R.E. Mirzaev took place at the CIS ATC’s headquarters on February 15, 2022.
During the meeting the Parties evaluated the state of interaction of the two international organizations and noted the increased level of cooperation since the relations had been formalized in 2006, as well as the concrete positive results.
This includes, for example, an exchange of information on a wide range of topics, mutual consultations, participation in the anti-terrorism drills carried out by the parties, table-top exercises and research-to-practice conferences.
The members of the delegations exchanged views on topical issues of cooperation amid the situation developing in the Central Asia and Afghanistan under the influence of activity of international terrorist organizations.
The heads of the organizations expressed their interest in further strengthening of cooperation, reaffirmed readiness to develop join work in information sharing, highlighted the importance of using capacities of data banks of the CIS ATC and SCO RATS within the framework international and interstate search for wanted and continued mutual participation in the anti-terrorism activities.
In conclusion of the visit, R.E. Mirzaev left a note in the book of honorable guests of the CIS ATC.
The meeting was held in a constructive and inviting atmosphere.
