On the initiative of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) Under-Secretary General Vladimir Voronkov and CIS ATC Head Andrey Novikov held an online meeting.
The parties discussed the situation in Afghanistan, its development since Taliban Movement had seized power in Afghanistan and impact on the neighboring territories. They also noted a positive dynamic in cooperation between the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center and the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism within the framework of the signed Memorandum of Understanding.
Vladimir Voronkov stressed the importance of CIS ATC’s active engagement in the UN events and expressed interest in intensifying information exchange with CIS ATC on the issues of regional security.
