The Head of CIS ATC delivers briefing at the UN Security Council's consultations

The Head of the Commonwealth of Independent States Anti-Terrorism Centre Andrey Novikov conducted briefing of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al-Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities and the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1988 (2011) at on 23 June at the UN HQ in New York.

The members of the committees were informed on the developing situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the security of the Commonwealth states, the CIS ATC's activity aimed at coordination of cooperation of the CIS security and intelligence agencies, measures taken in cooperation with civil society to counter terrorist propaganda, results of practical mastering of algorithms of coordinated anti-terrorism work of the CIS member-states in the format of a joint anti-terrorism exercise Dushanbe-Anti-Terror-2017.
