The heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States Anti-Terrorism Center (CIS ATC), Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) and Executive Committee of Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of Shanghai Cooperation Organization held a meeting in Moscow on 2 August 2016 in the CSTO Secretariat to discuss the fight against international terrorism and extremism.
The Head of CIS ATC Andrey Novikov, CSTO General Secretary Nikolay Bordyuzha and Director of SCO RATS EC Evgeniy Sysoev took part in the meeting.
The parties expressed common concern over situation in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria developed under the influence of international terrorist organizations, exchanged information on major results of the anti-terrorism and anti-extremism activities and reiterated joint commitment to progressive development of cooperation between the CIS ATC, CSTO and SCO RATS in countering terrorism and extremism.
Mutual participation in the events organized by the parties, exchange of information on the crisis situations in the common areas of responsibility were also discussed.
The participants concurred in the necessity to share best practices accumulated by the parties and continue the practice of holding trilateral consultations on most burning counter-terrorism and counter-extremism issues.
