Deputy Head of the CIS ATC A. Kutmanov took part in a working meeting of representatives of border agencies of the CIS member-states, CIS cooperating bodies and working structures of international organizations to summarize the results of joint special border operations (SSBO) conducted in 2024 and discuss plans for the preparation and conduct of SSBO in 2025, on February 12, 2025.
The meeting was attended by representatives of border agencies of 7 states (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), 6 CIS bodies (Executive Committee, Bureau for the Coordination of Fight against Organized Crime of the CIS Member-States, Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Departments of the Council of Heads of Customs Services, Secretariats of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General and Council of Heads of Migration Authorities, Anti-Terrorism Center), 3 CSTO bodies (Secretariat, Joint Staff and Executive Bureau of the Coordination Council of Heads of Competent Authorities for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking), Executive Committee of the SCO RATS.
The meeting reviewed the results of the "West-2024" and "Shekara-2024" joint special operations and discussed the procedure for preparing and conducting joint special operations this year.
In his statement, Deputy Head of the Center noted the importance of SSBOs in solving the problems of assisting the CIS member-states in interstate search of wanted for terrorist and extremist crimes, and expressed confidence that cooperation of the CIS ATC and the SKPV Coordination Service will contribute to increased efficiency of joint efforts to ensure security in the CIS area.
