CIS ATC participates in the 29th meeting of the CIS CHFIUs

 
A delegation of the CIS ATC, led by its Head Colonel General Evgeny Sysoev, took part in the 29th meeting of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS Member-States in Indore, Republic of India on November 26, 2024.
 
The event was attended by the heads of the financial intelligence units of the CIS member-states (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), CIS bodies (Executive Committee and CIS ATC), and Executive Committee of the SCO RATS.
 
The meeting reviewed topical aspects of the CIS CHFIUs activities, including development of the International Center for Assessing the Risks of Legalization of Proceeds from Crime and Terrorism Financing (IRAC), and offered an opportunity to exchange practices of the CIS financial intelligence units.
 
In his statement, the Center’s Head informed the participants about the state of interaction between the CIS ATC and the CIS CHFIUs and the prospects for its development. He also briefed on consideration of issues of countering the financing of terrorism within the framework of the Second CIS Conference on Combating Terrorism and Extremism and practicing the actions of the CIS competent authorities in this field with use of the capabilities of the IRAC during the joint anti-terrorism exercise "East-Antiterror - 2024".
