CIS ATC attends Ministerial consultations of the CIS Member-States on “Countering new challenges and threats”


The CIS ATC’s representative took part in the ministerial consultations on “Countering new challenges and threats” held in Minsk on June 6, 2024.

The consultations brought together representatives of foreign ministries of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS bodies (Executive Committee, Anti-Terrorism Center) and CIS Basic organization for research of problems in countering terrorism and other manifestations of extremism.

The meeting assessed terrorist threats to the Commonwealth states, highlighting the key factors conducive to their formation. The participants exchanged views on cooperation in countering terrorism and preventing radicalization of citizens, countering money laundering and financing of terrorism as well as drug trafficking problems.

In his statement the Center’s representative spoke of the threats in Commonwealth space and development of the CIS ATC’s counter-terrorism cooperation with the international organizations.
