The delegation of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center led by its Head Evgeny Sysoev took part in the 28th meeting of the Council of heads of migration authorities of the CIS member-states (SRMO) held in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan on May 28, 2024.
The event was also attended by the representatives of the migration authorities of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, CIS Executive Committee and CIS Inter-parliament Assembly.
The meeting reviewed topical issues of activities of the migration authorities, including elaboration of the model acts in the migration field, experience of conduct of the migration policy and enforcement practices of the migration authorities of the CIS member-states.
In his statement the CIS ATC’s Head noted the necessity of developing cooperation of the competent authorities of the CIS member-states in countering terrorism and extremism among migrants and informed the meeting participants of the results of the CIS ATC’s cooperation with the SRMO in the subject field.
A Memorandum of Cooperation between the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center and the Council of Heads of Migration Authorities of the CIS member-states was signed on the margins of the meeting. The document specified the lines of cooperation and reflected key joint activities in the legal, coordination, information-analytical, methodological and scientific fields.
