Deputy Head of the CIS ATC Colonel Aibek Kutmanov took part in the 27th meeting of the Council of Heads of Migration Authorities of the CIS Member-States on September 28, 2023.
The event brought together the heads of migration authorities of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, CIS IPA, SRPFR and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The meeting agenda covered 14 items including the migration situation in the CIS countries, amendments in national legislation in the migration sphere and law-application practice of the migration authorities of the Commonwealth countries, experience of the competent authorities in conducting joint preventive, investigative and special operations to suppress illegal migration.
Deputy Head of the Center informed the participants about the situation in countering terrorism and extremism on the territory of the CIS member-states, noted the growing threat of expanding activities of Afghanistan and Middle East based terrorist and extremist organizations in the Commonwealth area, as well as attempts undertaken by militants of the terrorist organizations to penetrate the countries of the Central -Asian region through migration channels and refugee flows.
