Deputy Head of CIS ATC S.E. Zubkov took part in the 33rd meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutor Generals of the CIS member-states held in Baku, Azerbaijan Republic on September 15, 2023.
The event brought together representatives of the Prosecutor General’s offices of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting reviewed a wide range of issues, including protection of constitutional rights of citizens in criminal proceedings, measures to safeguard rights of minors, counteraction to illegal trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances, practices of criminal prosecution of the persons who committed violent actions against citizens for the purpose of illegal drug trafficking.
In his statement S.E. Zubkov assessed the state and trends of development of the terrorist threats in the CIS area, noted positive results of anti-terrorist cooperation of the competent authorities and highlighted considerable contribution of the Coordinating Council of the Prosecutor Generals to solving the problems of inter-state search of wanted persons who committed terrorist offences and flee from prosecution and execution, and converging national laws of the Commonwealth states.
