CIS ATC took part in the Meeting of Committee of Heads of law-enforcement Units of the Council of heads of customs services of the Commonwealth States

 

A representative of the CIS ATC took part in the 23rd meeting of the Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Units of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS Member-States, held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic on September 14, 2023.

The meeting brought together representatives of the customs services of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan.

The meeting discussed organization and conduct of joint events aimed to combat economic crimes and offenses in the customs area, development of information and analytical cooperation between law enforcement units of the customs services of the CIS member-states and other issues.

The meeting summed up the results of the international special customs operation carried out to identify and detain batches of precursors of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, suppress their transportation channels, identify and eliminate underground drug laboratories. An agreement was reached to develop a mechanism for the exchange of advance information between law enforcement units of the customs services and other agencies authorized to work in the field of customs affairs.

The meeting concluded with adoption of a schedule of joint actions aimed to organize advanced training for law enforcement officers, identification of lines of development of cooperation between dog handlers, and approval of a Work plan of the CIS regional communication hubs RILO - Moscow for 2024.

The participants commended the high efficiency and constructive nature of the meeting and noted a need for further development of international cooperation in the fight on customs offenses.
