The CIS ATC’s delegation led by its Head, Colonel-General Evgeny Sysoev took part in the 86th meeting of the Council of Border Troops Commanders (SKPV) held in Baku, Azerbaijan on June 8, 2023.
The event brought together delegations of nine border agencies of the CIS states (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan), CIS bodies (Executive Committee, Office for Coordinating the Fight on Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crimes in CIS Member-States).
The meeting participants analyzed the situation developing at the external borders of the Commonwealth, reviewed the progress of work to prepare interstate documents to further improve and strengthen the border security system, as well as some aspects of joint research, educational and personnel activities.
The CIS ATC Head briefed the SKPV members on the assessment of the security situation in the Commonwealth space as announced at the 52nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS Member-States in Minsk on June 1, 2023.
The meeting concluded by adoption of the planning documents of the Council’s near-term and mid-term activities.
