The CIS Anti-Terrorism Center’s delegation led by its Head Colonel General E.S. Sysoev took part in the working meeting of representatives of CIS border agencies, cooperating CIS bodies and working structures of the international organizations on summarizing joint special border operations (JSBO) conducted in 2022, and detailing plans of preparation and conduct of JSBO in 2023 on February 14, 2023.
The event was attended by the representatives of border agencies of 7 states (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), 6 CIS bodies (Executive Committee, Office for Coordination of Fight on Organized Crime of the CIS member-states, secretariats of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutor Generals and Council of Heads of Migration Bodies, Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Units of the Council of Heads of Customs Services, Interstate Aviation Committee), 3 CSTO bodies (Secretariat, Join Staff and Executive Bureau of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Anti-Drug Competent Authorities), Executive Committee of RATS-SCO.
The meeting reviewed the outcomes of joint special border operations “West-2022” and “Sarhad-2022” and procedure of preparation and conduct of JSBO this year. The participants of the working meeting were acquainted with the experience of preventive, operational-search activities and special operations conducted by the internatiоnal organizations.
The delegates noted the importance of participation of all border agencies of the CIS states in joint activities, as well as the necessity of coordination of efforts of the competent authorities and working structures of the international organizations during preparation and conduct of practical activities aimed to provide border security.
In his statement the Head of CIS ATC stressed high level of cooperation of the CIS ATC and Coordinating Service of the Council of Border Troops Commanders, informed about main results of the joint work to render assistance to the CIS member-states in inter-state search of persons who committed terrorist and extremist offences.
The Head of CIS ATC expressed his confidence that the working meeting results would facilitate further improvement of cooperation and elaboration of additional measures to develop organization of inter-state search within the framework of the special border operations.
