First deputy head of the CIS ATC Colonel Zh.N. Saipoldayev attended the VII meeting of the Council of the heads of penitentiary services of the CIS member-states (SRPS) which was held in Minsk, Republic of Belarus at the CIS Executive Committee on December 1, 2022.
During the event the Council members and representatives of the CIS specialized bodies were briefed on the implementation of decisions of the VI SPRS meeting and plan of work for 2022 as well as activities of the expert working group on burning issues of the Council.
The meeting discussed exchange of information on the situation in the CIS states and key lines of cooperation in the penal area. The participants also exchanged best practices of preventing proliferation of terrorist and extremist ideology in the correctional facilities.

The Identification joint operation includes regular activities carried out in the correctional facilities of the Commonwealth states to identify persons wanted for terrorist and extremist offences, prevent recruitment among the convicts and propaganda of terrorism and extremism.
The SRPS representatives participate in the Center's activities, including meetings of the Scientific-Advisory Council at CIS ATC and regional expert consultations of representatives of counter-terrorism and counter-extremism units of the security agencies, special services and law-enforcement authorities of the CIS member-states.
