CIS ATC attended 85th Meeting of the Border troops Kommanders’ council


The CIS ATC’s delegation led by Deputy Head of the Center A.Zh. Kutmanov attended the 85th meeting of the Border Troops Commanders’ Council which was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on November 3, 2022.

The meeting brought together delegates of ten member-states (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan), Coordinating Service of the Border Troops Commanders’ Council, CIS partner-bodies and working structures of the international organization, including Office for Fight on Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Crimes in the CIS territory, Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization).

In his statement A.Zh. Kutmanov assessed terrorist threats in the Commonwealth space, noted the high level of practical cooperation of the engaged forces in conducting joint drills and exercises in the territory of the CIS states, and focused on the necessity to further consolidate the efforts undertaken to maintain high level of combat readiness of the armed forces, border troops and special services.

The meeting participants were briefed about the activity results of Commanders’ Council in 2022, situation at the external borders of the CIS member-states, discussed outcomes of the conducted joint special border operations, as well as development of cooperation in research and educational spheres.

Totally 20 decisions aimed to further development and expansion of multilateral border cooperation were taken following the meeting.
