The Head of CIS Anti-Terrorism Center Evgeniy Sysoev took part in the grand meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS member-states dedicated to the 30th anniversary of its founding, on March 29, 2022 in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Center’s Head congratulated the Chair and members of the Council with the memorable date and noted a key role of the CIS IPA in shaping a unified legal space of the Commonwealth.
Evgeniy Sysoev informed the meeting attendees of the CIS ATC’s experience in improvement of the CIS legislation in counter-terrorism and counter-extremism established in cooperation with the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
The ATC’s Head said that the CIS ATC had been actively involved in development of the security-related legislation and participated in the work of the CIS IPA institutions in the expert capacity since its founding in 2000.
This activity has resulted in elaboration of over 40 legal acts, including the laws on countering terrorism and extremism, border security, security of large sport events and others.
Evgeniy Sysoev expressed confidence that the existing experience of cooperation between the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center would further facilitate development and harmonization of the national legal frameworks of the Commonwealth states in the interest of the regional and international security.
