The chief of the CIS ATC's legal support group attended the meeting of the CIS IPA's Joint Commission on harmonization of law on security and counteraction to new challenges and threats.
The meeting, which was held in the Taurida Palace on 28 November 2017, brought together parliaments from the Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of the Secretariat of the CIS IPA's Council, Coordination Service of the Council of the Commanders of the Border Forces, CIS Executive Committee, Coordination Council of the General Prosecutors of the CIS Member-States, competent authorities, CIS think tanks and educational institutions as well as the Council of the Parliament Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The participants discussed implementation of the measures envisaged by the CIS inter-state programmes of cooperation on development of model normative acts aimed at harmonization of the laws of the Commonwealth states.
In the course of the discussion the CIS ATC's representative informed about the prepared by CIS ATC review of the CIS new national laws on countering terrorism and extremism with due regard to the states' commitments to the UN and CIS.
