CIS Anti-Terrorism Centre Deputy Head Major General Oleg Zemskov attends an active stage of the Combat Commonwealth 2017 joint exercise of the CIS Joint Air Defence

More than 2,000 troops of the Air-Space Forces, Air Force and Air Defence of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia as well as over 200 pieces of combat and special equipment including S-400 Triumf, S-300 Favorit missile systems, Pantsir-S gun/SAM systems, MiG-29, Su-24, Su-34, Su-27, Su-30, Su-25, MiG-31, Tu-22 fix-wing aircraft, Mi-8AMTSh helicopters are participating in the manoeuvres which started on 4 September at the Ashuluk range in Astrakhan region, Russia.

According to the statement of the Information and Mass Communication Department of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the exercise will include variable tactical events covering organization of joint employment of the coalition groups of aviation and air defence troops of the Commonwealth of Independents States in the collective security regions in case of anti-terrorism operations and armed conflicts.
