CIS ATC delegation took part in the meeting of the Council of Internal Affairs Ministers of the CIS member-states

The meeting was attended by the heads of the ministries of internal affairs of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as delegations of CIS Executive Committee and sectoral cooperation bodies.

Response of internal affairs bodies to the extremist threat and countering the involvement of citizens of CIS member-states in the illegal groups involved in armed conflicts in the Middle East region was one of the burning issues of the agenda.

The Head of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center Colonel General of Police Andrey Novikov addressed the participants of the meeting by saying that as of today more than 5 thousand persons linked to terrorist activity were on the wanted list of the Commonwealth. (Click here to see full text of statement)

"We make ongoing efforts to organize such data and intensify search operations. Since 2011 we have been organizing annual complex of target operations under the code name "Tral – Antiterror" aimed at apprehension and extradition of wanted terrorists", the CIS ACT Head added.

The meeting resulted in adoption of a number of important management decisions related to public security in the CIS states.

The powers of the Council Chairman were transferred to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev
