CIS ATC participates in the 56th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS Member-States

 

A delegation of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center led by its Head Colonel General Evgeny Sysoyev took part in the 56th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS member-states held in Dushanbe on May 16, 2025.

The event was attended by the heads of competent authorities of 9 CIS member states (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan), the CIS Executive Committee and the CIS ATC.

The meeting considered the methodology for identifying sleeper cells of terrorist and extremist organizations in the territory of the CIS member states, as well as improving the work across the channel used by citizens, including minors, to travel abroad to study in dubious theological educational institutions.

The Council adopted a joint analytical document reflecting a comprehensive assessment and forecast of the development of security threats in the territory of the CIS member states, summed up the work of 5 commissions under the Council on: ensuring the security of international transport communications; scientific and technical cooperation; information security; cooperation in the field of counteracting the destructive activities of foreign non-profit non-governmental and international organizations; cooperation in the field of preliminary investigation, as well as the Coordination Council and Technical Committee of the United Database of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS Member States to Combat Organized Crime.

The Head of the Center informed the members of the Council about the results of joint activities in the field of counteracting terrorism and extremism achieved in 2024 by the competent authorities of the Commonwealth countries, the Anti-Terrorism Center and other CIS bodies within the framework of implementation of the Program of Cooperation of the CIS Member-States in the Fight against Terrorism and Extremism for 2023-2025, as well as measures to improve the organizational foundations of the CIS ATC.
