CIS ATC participates in 54th Meeting of the Council of Heads of security agencies and special services of the CIS member-states


The CIS Anti-Terrorism Center’s delegation led by its Head Colonel General Evgeny Sysoev took part in the 54th meeting of the Council of heads of security agencies and special services of the CIS member-states in Bishkek on May 24, 2024.

The Head of CIS ATC presented the results of joint measures aimed to counter terrorism and extremism achieved by the Commonwealth’s competent authorities, Anti-Terrorism Center and other CIS bodies in 2023, outcomes of the XVII Meeting of the heads of national anti-terrorism centers, as well as measures to improve the efficiency of the CIS ATC’s cooperation with international organizations engaged in fight on terrorism and extremism.

In his statement the Head of Center noted the improved results of the joint measures focused on identifying and preventing terrorist and extremist operations, countering the terrorist ideas, minimizing their resources provision and underlined the necessity to boost the activities to promote the SORB’s stand on topical issues of fight on terrorism and extremism at the international fora.

The SORB’s meeting concluded with approval of the Decision “On measures aimed at improving the efficiency of the CIS ATC’s cooperation with the international organizations engaged in the fight on terrorism and extremism” which had been elaborated by the CIS ATC.

The CIS ATC’s Head met with the Chair of the SCNS of the Kyrgyz Republic on the margins of the SORB 54th meeting to discuss the state and prospects of the parties’ cooperation.
