The CIS ATC’s delegation led by its Head Evgeny Sysoev took part in the XII International summit of high representatives supervising security issues, which was organized by the Security Council of the Russian Federation in Saint Petersburg on April 23-25, 2024.
The forum brought together secretaries of security councils, advisors and aides of heads of states on national security, governments’ vice-premiers, chiefs of security and special services of 106 states and representatives of 10 international organizations.
On the first day the participants discussed information security under the conditions of a poly-central world order formation.
The agenda of the second day covered preservation of the national identity and traditional values of the world states as an integral element for maintaining international security, peace and stability.
The plenary sessions were complemented with round table discussions on international cooperation in preventing illegal migration and protecting population during armed conflicts, natural and anthropogenic emergency situations.
Besides, the forum hosted a multilateral CIS meeting which was attended by the Center’s Head.
In his statement E. Sysoev briefed the participants of the measures taken by the competent authorities of the CIS member-states to improve efficiency of counter-terrorism and counter-extremism cooperation.
He also informed about the XVII Meeting of the heads (chiefs of staff) of the national anti-terrorism centers of the CIS member-states held in Moscow April 10, 2024, which participants strongly condemned the terrorist attack of March 22, 2024 in Moscow region and expressed their readiness to render assistance in the investigation.
The Center’s Head also highlighted the CIS anti-terrorism exercise which was carried out simultaneously with the SCO member-states in Kyrgyzstan in 2023 and the First CIS conference on combating terrorism and extremism.
In conclusion the Center’s Head noted the unique nature of the forum organized by the Russian Security Council and its relevance for the professional dialogue and exchange of opinions on burning security issues.
