A meeting of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center’s Head Colonel General E.S. Sysoev and Chair of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan Lieutenant General A.A. Azizov took place in Tashkent on August 17, 2022.
During the meeting the parties exchanged views on the situation development in the field of counter-terrorism and counter-extremism taking note of the significant impact posed by the situation in Afghanistan and international terrorist groups operating in that territory on the Central-Asian region.
The heads of delegations assessed the state and prospects of cooperation development, discussed organization of information exchange and interstate search of wanted fugitives.
The executives stressed the importance of consolidated efforts of the Commonwealth’s competent authorities amid the rising terrorist threats, expressed their interest in enhancing the cooperation.
