A representative of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center took part in the Regional training for local communities organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA).
The training was attended by the experts from governmental agencies and civil society institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as international and regional organizations, including the UN, UNAMA, UNICRI, OSCE, INTERPOL, LEICA, BOMCA, CARICC, CICA, CSTO, SCO RATS.
The event discussed topical issues of expanding cooperation and coordination between local communities, governmental agencies, non-governmental sector, international and regional organizations in countering terrorism and extremism.
In his presentation on risk assessment and indicators development within the framework of the Counter-Terrorism Early Warning Network for Central Asia, the Center’s representative focused on the trends of radicalization of the population and organization of general preventive measures aimed at forming a strong rejection of the ideology of terrorism and extremism among citizens of the Commonwealth countries.
