CIS ATC participates in International conference on preventing spreading of extremist ideas


Representatives of the CIS ATC took part in the IV International Conference on the Problem of Spreading of Extremist Ideology organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Moscow on September 25-26, 2024.

Delegations from more than 40 countries, representatives of international organizations, including INTERPOL, CSTO, SCO, BKBOP, CIS ATC, executives and staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation took part in the conference.

The participants discussed trends of the development of extremism in modern conditions, exchanged experiences of cooperation in the field of counteraction of ideology, considered mechanisms of interaction between law enforcement agencies in this area, and burning problems in improvement of legislation.

The Center’s representative presented a report on “Features and problems of counteracting the spread of terrorist ideology in the CIS with use of modern technologies”.

The Forum participants expressed concern over the growing spread of dangerous types of extremism in various regions of the world, expressed their opinion on the need to consolidate the efforts of the states and civil society institutions in countering extremist ideology, as well as the importance of taking comprehensive measures to eliminate the causes and conditions conducive to the growth of terrorist threats.
