Representatives of the CIS ATC took part in the Second International Science-to-Practice Conference “Topical Issues of Countering Extremism and Terrorism” organized by the All-Russia Research Institute (VNII) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and dedicated to the memory of Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Igor Sundiev (Sundiev’s Readings) on May 14, 2024.
The event brought together representatives of the law-enforcement authorities of the CIS member-states, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, scientists specializing in research of security and counter-terrorism problems.
The conference reviewed the problems of countering proliferation of terrorist and extremist ideas, radicalization in the youth and migrant environment, and rise of destructive content in the Internet. The participants noted the importance of developing international cooperation in the subject field.
The Center’s representative spoke at the plenary session and made a presentation on “Extremism in the migrant environment in the Commonwealth of Independent States: research problems and counteraction outlook”.
